Last year on my birthday, Zach called me at work and said that Jess had called the breeder where they had gotten their dogs and she had a puppy that was ready to go. Not only that, but she was wanting to get rid of him quickly and was willing to give a discount for him. Melanie and Jess had offered to get him for us as a house warming/birthday present if we wanted him now. Zach asked what I wanted to do. We both are not very spontaneous people and this was a pretty big step so quickly after we'd been married, so there should be much consideration in this question. We carefully thought.... and then said absolutely!! How could we say no! Melanie and Charley went and picked up our puppy on my birthday. When they asked about a name, there was very little question that his name would be Jere. That first night, we just saw pictures of our little one.

But on Friday after I got off work, we headed to Clarksville to meet our little puppy. He was so cute and little!! We fell in love immediately. That weekend we showed him off, bought some essentials, took lots of pictures and were trying to decide if we could bring him back with us or not. You see, the catch was we were still living in an apartment for 3 weeks until we could move into our condo and the apartments didn't allow pets. We decided to give it a try. We couldn't stand to part with the new addition to our family.

For two weeks we tried our best to keep a puppy quiet, from messing in the apartment, and from being seen. This was a stressful task. The third week, which was when we were going to be packing and getting ready to move, we took him back to Clarksville to stay with Melanie. She kindly kept him for us so we could pack and move without having to worry about Jere. The weekend that we moved, she came to help and brought Jere home for good!! It's hard to imagine our lives without him.
