Happy Birthday to My Husband

Twenty-five years ago today I was probably doing what most babies do when they are only 26 days old... sleeping, crying, eating, being doted on by my loving parents. But, I bet even then, late that night around 9:26pm I was smiling. Why? Because the man that I would one day marry was born. We were created for each other. I didn't know who he was, but I always knew God had someone special He created just for me. We already had things in common! Zach was born in Chattanooga and like me, he was a few days late. We just like to take our time.

Zach is not an easy person to surprise and he always knows what he wants for gifts. I was trying to surprise him with a coffee pot that he really wanted and had bought it for him about a week ago. I "hid" it in the upstairs hall closet, that he never goes in. Perfect spot, right. Wrong. On Saturday of this week he happened to go in the closet looking for something and I didn't realize where he was. He came down and said I needed to do a better job hiding. It took me a minute, but when I realized... I was so mad. I still didn't let him have it until today. I did get to surprise him with donuts this morning when he got home from work so he could have them with his coffee.

Tonight we went to his dad's house and had dinner (pinto beans and cornbread per Zach's request) and not the traditional cake, but banana pudding. All of his dad's family were able to be there and we had a fun time.

I am so thankful for Zach and especially thankful for this day.
