The Gift of Sight

I know it has been a couple of weeks... it's one of those things where I don't know where to start. Mom visiting, missions conference, TN vs. South Carolina game, scrapbooking, work, scrapbooking, sick, can't breathe, trying to work, finishing the wedding srcapbook. Lots of fun things!

Mom goes to visit Grandma Kay about once a month and one of their routines is a Wal-Mart trip. On the most recent Wal-Mart trip, mom took (drug) her into the eye doctor they have in the store for a checkup. The doctor told her that she had severe cataracts in both eyes (4+ on a scale of 1-4) and recommended she be seen by a surgeon. Well, mom being the go getter that she is got the doctor to recommend someone and he even called and made a consultation appointmnet for the next week. Three weeks later she has had surgery on both eyes (at different times) successfully. Today was the surgery on the second eye, and while she will be swollen and extra blurry for a few days she is going to suffer through. You see, she can already see better with the other eye, the one they did first and she CANNOT wait to "see" the difference with both eyes healed and in her new glasses.

I am so excited for her and the new gift of sight she will have just in time for Christmas. I'm also proud of her for going through with something that was very scary for her.
