Happy New Year...A Little Late

I love the start of a new year. The majority of my past New Year's Eves have been spent with my family and some friends. I never had a "date" for New Year's Eve until I met Zach and even then I've only spent two with him. We had plans to hang out with some friends of his and I was excited that we had "plans".

Unfortunately, I woke up on Monday feeling terrible. I had been battling cold/allergies/sinus infection off and on since Thanksgiving and was sick of being sick. It was my first day back to work after our vacation and I knew I couldn't call in and since I wasn't running a fever I was "ok" to be at work. It was a miserable day and I called Zach after lunch and told him I didn't think I would be able to make it over to his friends' for New Year's but he should plan on going without me. His response was as any good husbands should be... "But I can't have New Year's without my baby!" To which I responded "you'll be fine."

He was a super good husband and went to the store and got me lots of orange juice and soup and peppermints and cider. He made me some dinner when I got home from work and I laid in our recliner and fell asleep. He woke me up around 8:30, I took some Benadryl, he left, and I was in bed... asleep... by 9:00. On New Year's Eve.

I went to sleep in 2007 and woke up in 2008 never even knowing midnight had come and gone.

Happy New Year!
