Sun, Sand, and Relaxin

After Aleasha's graduation, we all headed to the beach for a few days of relaxing. The only thing missing was my sweet husband and brother. Both had to work and could not get off. But my baby totally supported me going ahead without him, knowing how much I needed a break. I really missed him being there and am still looking forward to when we actually get to go to a beach together, but this did not stop me from enjoying myself!

We got there on Sunday afternoon and it started sprinkling/raining. And the traffic was HORRIBLE. The rest of the week was perfect. Sunny skies and way less traffic/people!

Our days consisted of waking up, eating breakfast on the balcony, heading to the beach/pool where we enjoyed the sun, ocean waves, and having absolutely nothing to do! We got ready and went out to dinner each night and one night we played Putt-Putt and rode go-carts and played in the arcade. Me and dad tied in Putt-Putt and I got two holes-in-one! Mom and I opted out of the go-carts and enjoyed our time in the arcade. My very favorite game is the "alligator" or "mole" game where you take the foam hammer and hit the alligator/mole head as they pop out of the holes. It is a good way to get rid of frustration as you hit those little guys on the head!

A game that is a now close second on my list is the "deal or no deal" game. This of course is new and is based on the tv game show. Mom and I played this together and won 1, 2, 150, and 200 tickets. 200 was the most!! We were so proud! The security guard who was sitting back watching us (we are entertainment all by ourselves!) said that he'd never actually seen someone win the 200 tickets. Dad deserves a little credit because he did pick the winning case 11 (in honor of his market). We had way to much fun with that game!

One morning, all of us (except mom) did a dolphin jet ski tour. Me and Aleasha were on one of the jet skiis. She drove us and we kept up with the boys and the tour guide pretty well. We did not really stop for 2 hours on the jet ski. It was a blast and we did get to see some dolphins up close. They had told us that we might even see some sea turtles, so I was pretty excited about this possibility, but there was no way we would have been able to see the turtles with as fast as we had to go to just keep up the the guide!

The only really bad part of the trip was the fact that dad burned the tops of his feet really bad on the first day. He really didn't come back out to the beach during the day after that, but I think he was ok with that. He's not really a huge fan of the beach and was perfectly content to watch old war movies on tv/nap while we were out in the sun.

We had so much fun and I love getting to spend time with family I don't get to see very much. I look forward to many more years of us getting together at the beach with a few additions along the way (spouses, kids, etc.). :)
