Labor Day Blues

I am reminded today of how good I had it when I was in school. I miss all the time off I had. Summers, holidays, fall break, Christmas break, spring break. As I drove into work this morning, I was rudely reminded of all the people who were still home in their beds enjoying a lazy day off. Made clear by the lack of cars on the interstate and the lack of cars in the parking lot. It's a little depressing. Luckily, when I made it up to the floor, it was work as usual and I stayed pretty busy all day long. When I left and was walking through the parking lots to my car I figured out how much I was going to get paid for the day (holiday pay) and I began to smile! I know it's not all about the money, but it sure was nice to be reminded of the pay check I will receive for my day's work. Maybe working on Labor Day isn't so bad after all!
