I Was Right

If I wasn't such a chicken who didn't want to start blubbering in front of a big group of people, I would have shared the following story at Ben's wedding reception...

Ben had mentioned Laura several times in our conversations and always said that they were just friends. He had told me that she liked him, but he just wanted to be friends. I told him he better not lead her on and break her heart.

About six months before Ben and Laura started dating, Ben came to visit us. We took him out to dinner at a local pizza place and somehow the conversation turned to Laura. I started asking him 20 questions about her, her family, what brought her to the Boro, where she was from, etc. And Ben got very annoyed very quickly by all the questions. He told me to stop, and that I hadn't ever asked all these questions about his other "friends". He was right. So I stopped.

But, before I did, I told him that in a couple of years when I was in a pretty dress, Zach was in a tux, and he was in a tux I was going to tell him that I was right, because he was going to marry her.

And, I was right.

We couldn't be happier to have Laura becoming part of our family.

You're right. I will never let you forget it! I won't rub it in though, we all know the truth!
