1. Pay Day.
2. People who are at their worst and are still kind and say "thank you".
3. Being able to tell someone they are safe to eat when they haven't had anything by mouth for weeks.
4. Husbands feeding their wifes because she gets too tired feeding herself.
5. Co-workers who truly care about their patients despite all the "crap" we deal with.
6. Watching a family member's face when their loved one is able to talk for the first time in weeks after being on a ventilator.
7. Patients who come in with tubes, IVs, breathing machines, and are virtually unresponsive and walk out.
8. Co-workers who do things that are not in their job description... because it's the right thing to do.
9. Flexible hours.
10. PTO.
11. Pay Day. (this deserves to be mentioned twice!)
12. Changing caseload. Different types of patients. And that my patients usually are only their about a month before moving to the next level of care.
13. Patients who are pleasantly confused and the crazy comments they come up with.
